Peer pressure to use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco can seem overwhelming to a kid. Help your child to stand up to this peer pressure by educating your child about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. If you think that your child had given in to the peer pressure, or if you want to provide your child with a great excuse to say “No”, the Summit Police Department can help. The phrase “My parents test me” is a socially acceptable excuse that can withstand even the most persistent pressure. The Summit Police Department has teamed up with www.testmyteen.com, an organization that has provided our community $5,000.00 worth of free home drug test kit vouchers to share with parents who need them. Parents can access helpful information and get testing kits for detecting drugs at no charge (limit one per family).
The drug test kit tests for 10 substances:
- Cocaine (Stimulant)
- Amphetamine (Stimulant)
- Marijuana
- Opiates (Codeine-Morphine-Heroin)
- Methamphetamine (Stimulant)
- Barbiturates (Depressant)
- Benzodiazepines (Depressant)
- Oxycodone (Oxycontin)
- MDMA (Ectasy)
- Propoxyphene (Narcotic)
You can obtain a voucher for a free home drug test kit by contacting Lt. Steve Schroeder at the Summit Police Department, or by clicking on the link below to download an electronic voucher anonymously. Either voucher can be redeemed at www.testmyteen.com for a 10-Panel Drug Test Kit (shipping fees apply, usually about $6.00).
